Planning Board and Hazard Mitigation Plan Meeting

The Planning board will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the town's ongoing efforts to create a Hazard Mitigation Plan. Regular board business will be conducted following the Hazard Mitigation Plan public meeting.

Plainfield residents and local businesses, as well as those of neighboring communities, are encouraged to attend and provide their feedback. Help Plainfield prepare to weather natural disasters. More information is available on the attached flyer. Attend the meeting and respond to the survey on the reverse of the flyer and deliver to the Town Offices, or take the survey online.


The Town of Plainfield is undergoing a planning effort to:

  • assess the risks the town may face from natural hazards, such as flooding
  • identify action steps that can be taken to prevent damage to property and loss of life, and
  • prioritize funding for mitigation efforts to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property.

By maintaining a Hazard Mitigation Plan, the Town will be eligible for pre- and post-disaster funds from FEMA.
