The Town of Plainfield has an all volunteer Fire-EMS Department.
The Fire Department meets for trainings on Thursday nights at the Dennis A. Thatcher Public Safety Complex, located at 38 North Central Street.
Fire Chief
The Fire Chief is appointed by the Selectboard. The Selectboard has appointed Robert Shearer as Plainfield's Fire Chief. He can be reached at firechief@town.plainfield.ma.us.
Inspections
Smoke Detectors, Carbon Monoxide detectors, Propane Tanks, and Oil Burner installations must be inspected by the Fire Department.
Woodstove installations must be inspected by the Building Inspector.
