The Broadband Committee was established 5/24/2016 to formalize the efforts of town volunteers over the past decade. It worked for just under a year and created a detailed set of recommendations to guide Plainfield forward towards the construction of a fiber to the home network. One of its final recommendations was that the Board of Selectmen transfer the responsibilities of the Broadband Committee to staff of the Plainfield Light & Telecommunications Department. The Board accepted those recommendations and dissolved the Broadband Committee on 3/28/2017.
Chair: Brian Hawthorne
Committee members: Kimberly Longey, Leslie Rule, Michal Lumsden, Sally Silberberg, David Kramer, Rebecca Coletta.
