The Plainfield Police department now has a drop box for old prescription medicine. This box is located in the main lobby hallway and I locked and secured. Old, unused, or expired prescription drugs can be dropped. NO NEEDLES and NO ILLEGAL drugs can be dropped. Needles must be brought to a hospital or pharmacy with "sharps" containers.

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020 the Town of Plainfield took possession of the 2020 Ford F250 Crew Cab Pickup. It is with profound gratitude that we thank the residents, Select Board and the Finance Committee for supporting the vehicle purchase voted on at the Annual Town Meeting. Plainfield Police were able to obtain a USDA Grant, which covered 55% of the cost of the cruiser. This could never have happened without the great residents of Plainfield, and their continued support. Our goal is to protect, serve and be a part of our Community in the best ways possible. The pickup will allow us to get offroad in places where the sedan or small suv can’t, for rescues, searches, etc. It replaces the 2005 F150, which was acquired from UMASS PD with donated monies, which has since been donated to the Plainfield Highway Department by the Police Department.
With Gratitude,
Chief Litchfield, Plainfield Police Department
